Terry Street - Collectors Corner

£6.00

ORIGINAL EDITION COLLECTOR’S ITEM: 1 Published in 1994, this special edition of Bête Noire magazine celebrated the 25th anniversary of Douglas Dunn’s sensational debut volume Terry Street (1969) by reprinting in definitive versions the eighteen poems that gave the collection its title. The poems are accompanied by sixty photographs of Terry Street taken by Robert Whitaker in 1968, all but eight of which were published here for the first time. The edition was followed in 1996 by a full-scale exhibition of both poems and photos at the Ferens Art Gallery, Hull. Dunn subsequently honoured these events in the poem ‘Bête Noire’s edition of Terry Street with Photographs by Robert Whitaker’, which was included in his collection The Year’s Afternoon (2000). Handsomely produced in A4 format and running to 102 pages, with an introductory memoir by Dunn and an extended ‘afterword’ by the editor John Osborne, these rare copies of the magazine are being offered at the original cover price of £6.00 (plus p&p).
